Twins in the City!

Katie and Cupcake recently made the long journey of moving from sunny Phoenix, Arizona to The Upper East Side in Manhattan, New York!  Things haven't been the smoothest transition ever but they are doing great.  I decided to fly up to New York for the weekend to try to help them get settled into their apartment.

I flew into NY friday after work so I ended up getting into town a little late.  We decided to go out to dinner at a little restaurant around the corner from their place.  It was really nice to hang out with them, but it was soooo hot!

delicious food, i decided to start taking pictures after we started eating but this was part of our brusetta.

i got seared ahi tuna and kt and cupcake got paninnis.

made a quick stop by the grocery store for bottled water and milk when I saw these....
NYC Toilet PAPER!

Next day we got to work cleaning and unpacking boxes.  We decided to venture out of the apartment to try to find a Target and Costco.  We stopped and had lunch at a mexican food restaurant which was amazing!!

we made it to Target which was quite different than any other i had been in before.  Very crowded and a lot of rude people... i think the heat was getting to everyone.  we ended up getting the essentials... drapes to keep the apartment cooler,  bucket for moping, household cleaners...

and starbucks !!!

this is just a weird spelling for my name...

Chris's buddy Jay and his wife Sarah live in the neighborhood so he was hanging out most of the day with us.  Friends since middle school :)

I was amazed that they have "video cameras" on their doorbell.  I ran to get my camera when cupcake came back from running around but this picture didn't turn out very well...

The typical NYC pictures...

The Stumble Inn... Loved this name!

Dinner that night was with Chris's buddy Eric and his gf Sarah who came in by train from Connecticut for the night. ( Didn't get any pictures of them :(  )

Katie was amused by her bread

This is going to be included in an upcoming blog...  personalized plates!

WHEEE!

so much to look at... i was entertained easily by all the store fronts

bus ride home...

This street was closed in the middle lane where we were waiting for the light to change.

Sorry there weren't any pictures of her place.  It was kind of messy from the move so I decided not to take pictures this time.  I had a great quick trip and I can't wait for them to come visit us in Virginia!
