virginia is for lovers

Made it to Virginia!

I have a cold so I haven't felt much like doing much of anything but here are some pics from the drive out here.

The MISSISSIPPI River!

We kept seeing signs for this place.  It was located at the border between north and south carolina.  We had huge hopes for this from all the signs.  It ended up being much like the signs to see "the thing"...  lots of talk, but not much else.

I was impressed because they had a pet restroom that I let Georgia off her leash to run around.

Uhauling it!

Higgins

Georgia through the window before we were off again!

She had it pretty good :)  she is such a good traveler!

Made it!

This was the first tunnel we went through under the bay.  This was near Virginia Beach where we stayed with one of Brian's friends for the night.

We live near water...  weird!

getting excited to see signs!

This is Brian's friend Steve's house that we stayed at.  I didnt get to take many pictures cause this was the night/morning I woke up with a cold but he had the coolest house!  Three pups ( Chihuahuas)  who Georgia was a bit afraid of.  It was really nice of him to let us stay the night :)

The last leg of the trip Chris drove my car, I rode in the passenger seat, Georgia on the floor and poor Brian in the Uhaul all by himself

Yorktown!

Brian and Chris did an amazing job packing the Uhaul.  Hardly anything got broken or scratched!

Rewards of "casino wine" (as my mom would call it) after a long day of lifting!

I broke down and decided we could open our new table.  Chris and put the table part together and Brian put together all 6 chairs!  Thanks Brian!

Our new apartment is much larger than the one in Texas.  and our bathroom is actually in a different room with a door!  (which made me excited!)

Still putting this away...

Baby girl isn't used to the cold.  Constantly in her sweater and either cuddled up next to one of us or under a pillow or blanket.  This is going to take some getting used to for her!

Brian and Chris decided to try the Kinect we got a few weeks ago.  It was so much fun to see them play :)

You can't really see what they are doing but they are playing a game where you are in a glass box underwater and fish come and break the glass and you have to plug the holes :)

Good times were had, except me being sick... and the first night that Higgins wouldn't let us sleep.  We couldn't have done this move without Brian's help and we really really appreciate him!

For all of you who want to come visit, we have a nice size guest room!  Hopefully still looking to get a house in the summer so stay tuned for that! :)

  1. You did such a good job documenting your commute out east. I can't wait to visit in a few weeks. Love you!
