Honeymooners!

On our way from Dallas to Maui!  Longest flight ever!!!
9.5 hours...

Finally in Maui and so excited to be here!

Self Portraits on the beach by our place
Next morning we found the best breakfast place called Kihei Cafe

i got a bagel and locks

chris got banana macadamia nut french toast
chris's breakfast tasted like dessert!

yummmm!

took the scenic drive...

i liked this sticker

these trees made it feel like we were driving through a tunnel

random statue chris joked we should get... then the sales clerk told me to take a picture :)

walk down the beach and chris got adventurous!

paddle board surfer!

still walking....

too many pics of chris so i took a self portrait...

also saw this guy fishing while chris was still walking...

random flower

chris was obsessed with the birds here

so was always mimicking their squawks

Maui Ocean Center is where my dad arranged for us to go diving.  It was pretty cool cause we got to go behind the scenes and see the baby sea turtles!

they were so cute!

they kept tucking their fins behind their back which apparently is a baby trait.  When they are this little they are usually in the middle of the ocean and it helps prevent their fins from behind attacked/torn off by other animals.

here is a better picture of this.

finally we went into the tank to see what we would be diving in....

and with what... at this point i was freaking out!

rays, sharks, big fish...  a little intimidating!

we were the second group to go so we watched as the first group (2 people) went in the tank.  we were waiting in the tunnel as this guy swam over us

our diev master Harry went in first to make sure we didn't hop in on top of a ray or shark

Harry puts on a show for the people watching

the couple that went in before us has 2 kids which was very entertaining to watch the kids reaction

cutest thing ever!  kids with their mom!

other kids watching

Harry found some shark teeth to show the kids (and me)

We went in next and it was amazing.  Wish we could have had someone there with us to take our picture.  it was about a 30 minute dive.  By the end I was touching rays, sharks, and puffer fish!  There was this one puffer that was following me around like a dog.  Loved it!

Next day we went to Big Beach

This local guy who was using a metal detector told us some info about the island across the way... and more importantly where the nude beach was!  haha, how funny!

chris tried to burry me

silly

sweet

we hiked up to the top of this little ledge to take a picture of Big Beach and to wander over to Little Beach
(nude beach not pictured)

chris stepped on a thorn that went through his sandle

pretty view

this is so large because we saw a whale and I happened to get it when it was out of the water!!!

big beach

this should be chris's

Zip Line Time!

Getting geared up!

Chris doesn't pose as well as me :)

After the first line I almost lost my shoe!!!

First zipline down...  so scary but totally worth it!

This was the receiving portion after the second line.  This is when it started raining!

crazy trees

Horses across the gorge we flew over

last zip, our instructors coming over go greet us

casey was our guide's name.  It was kind of scary on the last one because it was really different... you could tell Casey was nervous about the height so it made everyone else nervous.

it was a really fun time.  totally worth it!

when we were leaving we saw some goats

Plans for the day... Black Rock!

Cute puppy!

Breakfast number 2 at Kihei Cafe

i honestly dont know what chris got... but the rice was really good!

i didn't realize chris took this picture til now

View of all the people snorkling Black Rock

That night we went to dinner for sushi (for me) and we got deep friend macadamia nut encrusted ice cream!  this was such a treat!  soooo yummy!
Next day we went on a Blue Water Rafting snorkel tour.

They took us over the what they call Zeppelin's hallway

the lava formation was so pretty!

you can't really see what this is... but its 2 turtles doing inappropriate things.

then the highlight of the trip... a whale!

you could hear when the whale hit the water... it sounded like a shotgun!!!
Mama's Fish House!
We both got drinks called the Relaxer which was very tasty!

Lobster Guac with banana and sweet potato chips

Mahimahi stuff with lobster and encrusted with macadamia nuts

fresh Ono with veggies
