After I goy my new job, Chris and I decided we were going to bite the bullet and upgrade our counters in the kitchen.
This is something we new we wanted to do eventually - and we decided if we were going to do it - we might as well do it so we can enjoy them!
Before pics on the kitchen. I am now regretting not photographing the iron burn Chris accidentally made a few months after we moved in :)
After our old counters were taken off. Chris had a buddy come over who helped him take off the old counter tops. This ended up saving us about $250 for something that only took the guys 30 minutes to do. Thank goodness for do it yourself! I helped by vacuuming after everything was done. There was a surprising amount of sawdust!
The boys ended up putting the old counter in the garage... In my parking spot. It was tight fitting my car in the garage!
Note: you can see the iron mark in the top left corner
I had to work so Chris took the day off while the granite people came to install it. We had order a new garbage disposal to be installed at the same time and we were worried it wouldn't be delivered on time.
Turns out it wasn't. The guys from the company ended up explaining to Chris how to put it in once it did come - and left him with all the supplies to do it too! Which I thought was super nice.
Here is one of Chris finishing installing the garbage disposal :) look how handy he is!
And now... New counters!
Looking at the before and after pictures we ended up picking a stone very similar to what we already had.
Close up of the stoneOverall we are very pleased with the results!
We now new to figure out a backsplash but that will take some time to agree on.
