Whispers...

The following is an email that my brother in law brian sent to chris and I the day we found out I miscarried... It touched me and I think it was beautifully written so I wanted to share. Hope you don't mind Brian!!!



Hey Bro, Hey Sis -

We are all so very sorry for the loss of your little one. We talked with the kiddos and said a prayer for you all. I wanted to communicate with you, but the day got late and I'm sure you guys are exhausted. So, I'm sending this note so you'll have it when you need it. We love you guys!

When I spoke to Chris today, I had no words. Mostly because I couldn't believe what has happened. I prayed to God for answers, as I did when Keith was diagnosed. As the day continued, I struggled to understand.

As I hugged Kim tonight, I mentioned to her that in times like this, it is hard to know that God is there, and that He cares. Erik heard this and said "Daddy, God is always there." From the mouths of babes... I went outside to gather some wood for an evening fire, prayed some more, and had it heavy on my heart that God speaks to us with these little whispers. To reassure us that He is there and His plan is good.

Later in the evening, as we prepared for bed, Cody grabbed our children's devotional and asked if we could read it tonight. We had not read it in quite some time, so it was odd that he chose to read it this night. He showed me the page... January 8th... titled... "Sometimes I Whisper"

There is no such thing as coincidence.

Regardless of our desires, or heartbrokenness, all things serve a purpose.

We are so sad. So sorry beyond words. My eyes are teary and my heart is broken. Yet, He is with us. He is with you. May He comfort you now.
